unexpectedly on Friday, December 13th at the age of 52 surrounded by his devoted wife
and children. He was a lifelong resident of Attalla, Alabama.
Dewayne was born November 29th, 1972 to Phillip and Diane Walker. He was a
dedicated employee at Moore and Thompson for 18 years where his occupation was a
millwright/welder and he served as a foreman. Dewayne loved his job and coworkers.
He met the love of his life Kimberly Danielle Long in 2013 and they were married on
December 5th of 2015. Dewayne and Kim loved spending time with each other and their
pets watching WWE, Yellowstone, NCIS, and Chicago PD. He had a love for deer
hunting and looked forward to the season-opening every year. His many grandchildren
meant the world to him and he cherished the time spent with his loved ones. His
presence will be deeply missed.
Dewayne was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Diane Walker;
grandparents, Cecil and Billy Jo McElroy; grandmother, Undine Hill; niece, Savannah
Walker; brother in law and best friend, Kenny “Boo” McMullins.
He is survived by wife, Kimberly Danielle Walker; son, Cordell Walker(Alex) children,
Emma, Carter, Preston, Liliana, Judson, and Saban; daughter, Krislyn Walker;
stepchildren, Ryan Roden(Danielle) daughters, Riley and Nora; Ethan McMullins(Leah)
daughter, Avery; Rachael Presley(Cody) children, Kimberly and Owen; sister, April
Walker; nieces, Montana Gaskey and Cierra McMullins; nephew, Kenny McMullins.
Dewayne’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Jerry and Dana Thompson.
In place of traditional funeral flowers, the family kindly requests that live flowers or
plants be sent in honor of Dewayne’s memory. Additionally, donations may be made to
the Humane Society of Gadsden.
Funeral Service will be at noon Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Morgan Funeral
Chapel. Visitation will be before service from 10 until 12 pm.
