He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Vicki; his sons Chad (Robin), Joshua (Heather); his grandchildren Tyler and Ashley Bynum; his brother Wayne (Sue); his brothers in law, Larry (Deb), Mike, Don, and Steve Campbell and Steve Parrish; numerous nieces and nephews; and his chosen son Todd Bagley (LeNola) and chosen grandchildren Cole and Levi Bagley.
Michael was raised in Gallant and graduated from Etowah High School in 1969 and from GSCC in 1972 with a degree in Radio and Television Broadcasting, which he never used. He was called to the ministry in 1964 and answered it in July 1994 and has served as a Vineyard Pastor in the Recovery Ministry ever since. He began as staff pastor at Rapha in August 1998 and is currently the pastor of Vineyard Recovery Church.
Michael's ministry has impacted hundreds of men and women, who are struggling with addiction. His simple delivery of profound truths reached them with the ultimate truth that Jesus is the only way towards, not JUST sobriety, but a full and meaningful life after addiction. His hope and prayer has always been that, while they may forget him—may they never forget his Jesus.
Because of Christ's redemption,
I am a new creation of infinite worth.
I am deeply loved,
I am completely forgiven
I am totally accepted by God
I am absolutely complete in Christ.
When my performance
reflects my new identity in Christ,
that reflection is dynamically unique.
There has never been another person like me
in the history of mankind,
nor will there ever be.
God has made me an original,
one of a kind, a special person---AND SO ARE YOU!
The memorial service will be held at Rainbow Presbyterian Church, 3220 Rainbow Drive, Rainbow City, AL on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 4:30. Visitation will begin at 2:00 until the time of the service.
