Matthew Ryan Nelson age 29, of Gadsden passed away May 24, 2023. Funeral Service will be at 12pm Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Morgan Funeral Chapel with Pastor Tommy Marshall officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10am until 12pm. Burial at Red Apple Historical Cemetery. (2540 Summerville Rd. Boaz, AL 35957)

Matthew loved his wife, kids, and family more than anything. He was the owner of The Lawn Barber and took pride in his work. His love for his customers was unbelievable. He enjoyed riding his razor, and playing in the mud. He did his best to build his business from the ground up. He was a great family man and mommas boy.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thornie and Betty Shaneyfelt; granddad, Gilbert RB; and uncle, Billy Nelson.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Nelson; children, Dixie, Bentley, Oakleigh and Charleigh; parents, Mike and Sonia Nelson; mawmaw; Dale Nelson; uncles, Thornie (Kim) Shaneyfelt and Wayne Nelson; aunts, Rhonda (Steve) Strawn, Tracie (Johnny) Medley and Pam Nelson; nieces and nephews, Katelyn Shaneyfelt, Isaiah Medley and Isaac Medley, Lindsie (Jared) Diggs, Blake (Brandy) Strawn; and lots of cousins.

Pallbearers will be Damian King, Cord Trammell, La’Darian Matthews, Chris Bertram, Travis Yarbrough, Tyler McCoy, Steven Coley and Phil Gowens.

Honorary pallbearer will be his father, Mike Nelson and Thornie Shaneyfelt Jr.

Special thanks to his dad. He was his idol. He lived every day to be like him. The family would also like to thank Pastor Tommy Marshall and all his customers he loved the, all and cherished them so much.
