Pawpaw was a professional truck driver for 45 years. After the kids were raised he sat down at his dining room table with his son Cary and drew up house plans. Together with Nannie and his kids built their dream home together, a log house on the river.
Pawpaw loved catching crappie and Nannie loved cooking it for him. Sitting on the porch with Nannie with a breeze coming off the river was his favorite thing to do.
Pawpaw loved his family unconditionally. He shared his lifes secrets and his secret room with his son Matthew. He loved telling trucking stories with his son little Willie. Singing old Suzanna and teaching his grandsons how to fish, cut wood, build and repair any and everything. He loved to critique everyones cooking.
Pawpaw loved the Atlanta Braves and knew all the stats of the players past and present. He would yell “Roll Tide” with half the family and turn right around and yell “War Eagle” with the other half.
Grandsons will be honored to carry pawpaw to his final resting place.
