Jo Ann Caudle

Jo Ann Caudle, age 70, of Ashville, Alabama passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023. She was born in Gadsden, AL on September 7, 1952. Graveside services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 1:00pm. Bro. Neil Ford to officiate.

Mrs. Caudle was a member of the 1970 graduating class of Emma Sansom High School. She was married to the love of her life, Gary, for 40 years. Together, they enjoyed sitting on their pier watching big screen movies, Auburn and Alabama football, and going to yard sales. Her favorite pastime was to read and she collected hundreds of books to fill her own personal library. She was a member of the St. James Catholic Church where she loved her Lord. She began employment, in 1974, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital where she worked as a first central nurse call operator for over 30 years taking care of patients that she loved. Jo was known for her fashionable hats and beautiful cross necklaces. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

Preceded in death by her father, Billy Joe Nelson; and her mother, Joyce Lee Smith.

She is survived by her husband, best friend and love of her life, Gary Caudle; son, Cpl Shane Caudle; daughter, Penny Dobbins; granddaughters, Alexandra and Isabella Colburn; sister, Jeanette (Paul) Gilbert; nieces; Angela Goss and Bridgette Sherrell; great nieces, Brittany Watson and Lyla Goss; nephews, Seth, Skylar, and Summer Gilbert; and special friend, Todd Owens.

Pallbearers will be Paul and Seth Gilbert, Brent, Brock, and Davis Lawley, and Cameron Dobbins.
