Papa was born on July 28, 1936 and resided most of his life in Attalla, Alabama. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Elbert and Tera Pearce, brother TC Pearce, and sister Nellie Jo Holderfield. He was married to his wife Elizabeth Ann Pearce for 48 years. He was the father to 4 sons (Tim/Dawn Pearce, Casey/Thiep Pearce, Jamey Pearce, and Dusty/Amanda Pearce) and one daughter (Amy Pearce). He was Papa to 8 grandchildren (TJ Pearce, Clay Pearce, Adison Pearce, Eli Pearce, Thad Pearce, Sam Pearce, Lily Pearce, and Jackson Pearce). He also had three great grandchildren (Skye Pearce, Samatha Pearce, and Bella Pearce). He is survived by his sister Ann Bridges, brother Jimmy Pearce and several cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Papa was an Army Veteran and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad where he was often referred to as “the legend.” He worked hard to provide for his family and played hard as well. You couldn’t see Papa without smiling. He was always ready with a joke and never lost his inner child. His passion in life was family and sports. He was his grandkids biggest fan and was always at the games with snacks, candy, and drinks. He was often referred to as the candy man. He loved Etowah, West End, and the Alabama Crimson Tide. He was the anchor of our family and we will miss him and cherish all the wonderful memories we made with him. We take comfort knowing he is with beloved family and will meet him there one day. Visitation will be 11am-1pm at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Attalla on Saturday, May 15 followed directly by the service.
