Howard grew up fishing and hunting the rivers and woods of Alabama. After high school, he joined the Air Force where he served for four years. After attending college, he began his career in the grocery business, working his way up to manager, and eventually became a buyer for Mitchell Grocery Corp where he worked for over 20 years before retiring in 2015.
Howard was a talented artist and calligrapher. He was a self-taught guitarist, and was more than willing to entertain family with the music of Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bob Seger, and Elvis.
He was a jack of all trades, and loved working on house projects or tinkering with cars.
Fall was his favorite time of year. He loved to see the leaves changing colors, and made several trips to the Smoky Mountains to see the foliage. He spent Fall Saturdays cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Howard loved his grandchildren- Aspen, Jake, Sara Kate, Charleigh Anne, and Esther Grace. If asked, he never missed an opportunity to brag on them, or show you a new picture of them.
Services for Howard will be held October 25, 2024 at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Attalla, AL. Visitation will take place from 11:00am -12:00pm, with the funeral service beginning at 12:00pm. Bro. Harry Whitt to officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Boaz where he will be buried next to his beloved father, Marvin Jordan.
