Harold Ray Crosson age 80 of Attalla passed away May 13, 2024. Funeral Service will be at 2pm Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Morgan Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bobby Bryant and lifelong friend, James Burgess officiating. Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Harold was a member of Cherry St. Baptist Church for more than sixty years where he served as Deacon and R.A. teacher and coach. He also loved playing softball for the church league. In his younger years he was an avid athlete and pitcher for Etowah High School, even trying out for the St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and especially fishing in which he received many awards. He belonged to several Bass Fishing Clubs and loved being out on the water any chance he had. He was a devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Turner Crosson; great granddaughter, Emersyn Rayne Gowens; brothers, Ronnie Crosson, Charles Crosson and David Guest; parents, W.S. and Dollie Crosson; special mother in law, Gladys Turner; niece, Genette Browning.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Melissa Crosson and Kimberly Crosson; grandchildren, Haley Bishop Gowens and Nicholas Ray Bishop; great grandchildren, Ace Gowens and Beaux Gowens; sister, Elaine Brown; sisters in law, Margaret Roberson and Theresa Turner.
Pallbearers will be Nick Bishop, Eddie Roberson, Bryan Brown, Scott Browning, David Box, Billy LaCount, Kenneth LaCount,Josh Bryant and Semaj Gibbs.
Honorary pallbearers will be Drs. Debora and Andrew Reiland and staff.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the local humane society.
Special thanks to nurses, Bridget, Brittany, Susanne, Karen and the entire Enhabit Hospice staff.
