Graveside service will be held at 11A.M. Saturday October 14, 2017 at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.
A Memorial service will be held at 1 P.M. Sunday October 22, 2017 at the Collinsville Presbyterian Church. Dr. Alan L. Webb will officiate.
Gerald graduated from Auburn University with a BS degree in Elementary Education and a second BS degree in Business Administration and later earned his Masters Degree in English. He was deacon and elder at First Presbyterian Church in Gadsden and Collinsville. He was a former member of Phi Delta Theta at Emory; a former President of the Gadsden Museum of Fine Arts; former President of the Gadsden Art Association; former member of Kiwaniis; former teacher at General Forrest Middle School, Striplin Elementary, Gadsden State Community College, and Title I Coordinator at Central office.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis W. and Annie Keener Fowler; sisters, Martha Meredith and Betse Streng; granddaughter, Laura Winters Buff.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Amanda Joyce Simpson; daughters, Lydia Winters (Larry) Buff, Cynthia Reid (Steve) Campbell, Amanda Felicia (Allan) Butt, Jeri Maria (Darrell) Johnston; son, Gerald Curtis Fowler Jr.; grandchildren, Laura Winters Buff, Larry Brett (Brigit) Buff, Matthew Bryant Buff, Christopher Lee Buff, Jeremiah Joel (Angela) Campbell, Anna Grace Campbell, Caleb Josiah (Jenna) Campbell, Adam Kyle Johnston, Darren Lee Johnston, Allan (Lori) Bernard, John Ephraim (Emily) Butt, Elizabeth Aaron Butt, Amanda Grace Butt, Israel Bani Butt, Isaac Wesley Butt, Aaron Winslow Butt, Alexander Butt, Catherine Joy Butt, and Michael David Butt; brothers, Lewis W. Fowler Jr., and Dan Fowler; and 10 great grandchildren.
