Visitation for Ms. Scarber will be Thursday October 10th from 1:00-2:00 at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Attalla. A service will be held following the visitation and will be officiated by Gail’s nephew, Reverend Don Pilcher. A graveside service will follow at Forrest Cemetery.
Gail was born to William Luther Hendon and Lucy Pauline Griffith Hendon and was the tenth of eleven children. She worked at Eddon’s Drugs and Medical Arts Pharmacy for many years. Gail loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom were the “Apple of her eye”. She took great care of her mother and sister, and was a proud member of 12th Street Baptist Church, where she was a nursery worker for years and loved each one of “her kids”.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Luther and Pauline, sisters; Eloise Pilcher, Catherine Wood, Elaine Hendon, Betty Borgersrode, Regina Blackwell, and Linda Owens, brothers; Bill Hendon, Eddie Hendon, Bobby Hendon and Chas R. Hendon, infant son; WM Lee, infant daughter; Lucy Pearl, and son in law; Bill Cole.
Gail is survived by her daughter; Teresa Cole, grandsons; Scott Cole (Brittany), Randall Cole (Kayla), granddaughter; Angela Cole Rasco, great-grandchildren; Bradlee Cole, Jacob Cole, Kaylee Cole, Caleb Holloway, Makenzie Holloway, Madison Rasco, Cameron Rasco, Bella McGinnis, Avery Cole, and Rawlings Cole, sister-in-law; Louise Hendon, and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ms. Scarber’s great grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers; all staff of Cavalier Healthcare, Dr. Wimberly, Jerolyn (N.P.), Dr. Joshua Turner, and Keith Hardin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Breast Cancer Society.
Gail’s family would like to give a special thanks to Cavalier Healthcare nurses, CNAs, and all staff for caring for our Mother and Nanny. She loved you all like family.
