Dwight Glenn Rogers

Dwight Glenn Rogers, 73 of Steele passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021. Funeral Service will be at 2p.m. Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Morgan Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Chandler Mtn. Baptist Church.

Mr. Rogers was a farmer his entire life and loved raising his cattle. He was well known by many for the peanuts he grew. He was an avid softball player in his younger years and was a member of the softball hall of fame. Chandler Mtn. will not be the same without Mr. Rogers. He was a kind gentleman always willing to help those in need. His granddaughters were the highlight of his day. He loved spending time with them. They love Papa and will always hold him close in their hearts.

Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his parents, William Farmer Rogers and Mother, Destie Smith Rogers.

He is survived by his daughter, Teela Thornton; granddaughters, Aubrey and Kamryn Bonner all of Chandler Mtn.; son, Scott Thornton of Anniston, AL; brother, Wendell (Marianne) Rogers of Marietta, GA; nieces and nephews, beloved cousins, Curtisteen Parrish, Lee Gilliland, Bill and Judy Gilliland all of Chandler Mtn., and so many more family members and friends that he loved dearly.

Pallbearers will be Lane and Houston Smith, JD and Wyatt Whisenant, and Carlton Bonner.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 31, 2021 from 1p.m. until 2p.m. prior to the service at Morgan Funeral Chapel.
