Dorothy Wood Lively

Funeral services for Ms. Lively will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023, at Morgan Funeral Chapel. The family will receive visitors from 2pm until time of the service at 3pm. Burial will follow at Noble Hill Cemetery in Attalla. Sister Lennie Jo Carroll and Greg Whitt to officiate the service. Morgan Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Dorothy was born on June 28, 1947 to Eston and Iderhue Wood. She was a graduate of Emma Sansom High School and then continued her education at Gadsden State Community College where she received an AAS Business Degree. She was employed at Gulf State Steel where she retired with 25 years of service. Dorothy loved life and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Preceded in death by her parents, Eston and Inerhue Wood; sister, Latina Wood; and nieces, April and Karla Foster.

She is survived by her daughters, Tina (Charlie) Smith and Angela (Darrell) Chesser; grandchildren, Drake (Starr) Lively, Wes (Alyssa) Smith, Jacob Smith, Kyle Chesser and Leslie (Tyler) Brown; great-grandchildren, Brantley Lively, Jovi Lively, Kenna Grace Smith, Milo Brown and Archie Brown; and sister, Janice (Dean) Halsey.

Pallbearers are members of her family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers are the Sand Valley Volunteer Fire Department.
