Billy Joe Orr

A Memorial service is being held at Morgan Funeral Chapel on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 2:00pm. Visitation will be from 1:00pm until the time of service at 2:00pm. Dr. R. Gary Ashley to officiate.

Billy was born and raised in Gadsden, Alabama. He spent many years as an auto body specialist. He loved to be outdoors, fishing, mowing grass, and riding motorcycles. He loved dancing with his wife and making memories at the VFW.

Preceded in death by his parents, Homer Grady Orr and Mamie Baker Orr; daughter, Melissa Orr; brothers, Grover, Red, and Acton Orr; sisters, Mary Nell Battles and Betty Joyce Woodard; In-laws, Ronnie Horton, Jimmy Horton, James Battles, “Curly” Ogle, David Woodard Sr.; great granddaughter, Ashley Walters.

Billy is survived by his wife, Charlotte Orr; brother, Noah Robert (Judy) Orr; sister, Patricia Ann Ogle; children, Shelia (Chris) Conkle, Paul (Angie) Walters, Jonathan Walters, Christy (Phillip) Burchfield; grandchildren, Amber (Tyler) Brothers, Jessica (Austin) Matthews, Raven Burchfield, Megan Rader, Austin Burchfield, Hunter Walters, Tyler Orr-Burchfield, Sean Walters, Stacy (Matt) Williams, Jason Baty, 11 great grandchildren, and numerus nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting potted plants.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the hospice nurse Kayla Howington.
