Billie Jan Livingston O'Malley, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, in her hometown of Atalla, Alabama. Born on June 15, 1940, Jan spent the majority of her life nurturing her family in Pennsylvania before returning to the place where her journey began.
Jan was the heart and soul of her family—a devoted matriarch whose love knew no bounds. She raised four children: Patricia Cicerini and her husband Angelo; Frank O'Malley and his wife Maryann; and Edward Brian O'Malley, and his fiance Melissa Flower and Rhonda McDonough and her husband Paul. Her legacy continues through eleven cherished grandchildren Ryan, Eric, Adam ,Amanda, Zachary, Rachel, Jacob, Britni, PaulaJr., Ashley and Max, and numerous great-grandchildren who will forever carry forward the warmth she instilled in them.
Throughout her life, Jan exemplified what it meant to be a caring mother. Her home was always filled with laughter and love as she created countless memories with those she adored. Whether it was baking cookies for special occasions or simply sharing stories around the dinner table, every moment spent with Jan felt like a treasured gift.
In addition to being an extraordinary mother and grandmother, Jan shared an unbreakable bond with her sister Ann Livingston. Their relationship was one of deep companionship over the years—Ann’s unwavering support as caregiver during challenging times showcased their profound connection that transcended mere sibling ties.
Jan's final resting place will be at Crestwood Cemetery alongside loved ones including her parents Clyde B. and Edna Stagg Livingston, brother Mickey Livingston and his wife Linda as well as Phil and Jim Livingston. She will be reunited in heaven with brothers Jerry, Jack, and Tom Livingston, and who have all gone before her.
As we gather our hearts together to mourn this tremendous loss while celebrating a remarkable life lived fully—with grace woven throughout—we find solace knowing that Jan is now at peace surrounded by those she has missed dearly.
She leaves behind not only fond memories but also lessons about kindness that resonate deeply within each member of her family—the very essence of who they are today reflects everything she stood for: unconditional love above all else.
Though words cannot capture how profoundly Jan will be missed by everyone fortunate enough to know or love her—including family, Ann Livingston sister, Emma Livingston sister in law, many nieces and nephews and friends Phala Duncan and Barbara Mayden —we take comfort in remembering how brightly she shone during every moment shared together throughout these beautiful years spent side-by-side!
