Funeral Services for Mrs. Barbara Anne Burns, age 83 of Attalla, will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Morgan Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jack Washington officiating. Burial will follow at Box Cemetery in Ragland.
Mrs. Burns passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Mother was a devout Christian who loved all of her children, grandchildren and family. She spent the majority of her life in Gadsden, and was a member of Siberton Baptist Church. Her goal in life was for all of her family and friends to love one another and know the love of Jesus. This was so very important to mother. Mother loved to sing in her church choir when she was still able to go. She loved country music and gospel and had the voice of a song bird. She loved for all of her kids to show up to church on Mother’s Day. She knew she had the most kids. She was a kind and beautiful woman of God. We have no doubt our sweet mother walked into Heaven’s gate this morning, standing up straight and no longer in pain.
She is survived by seven children, George Broome (Amy) of Attalla, Bert Broome, Jr. of Ragland, Debra Cooley (Packy) of Janice, Mississippi, Cynthia Broome of Weaver, Brenda Waters (Jeff) of Heflin, Glenda Headrick (David) of Wellington, and Anthony Broome (Sherry) of Alexandria, 21 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Helen Brothers of Attalla and Beth Dial of Talladega, her brother, Harvey Pinson, Jr. (Carolyn) of Hunstville, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Michael Broome, her parents, Harvey and Lucille Pinson, her brother, Richard Pinson, two grandsons, Brantlee Craun and Kyle Broome.
Active Pallbearers will be: Grant Broome, Cody Broome, Corey Broome, Shane Young, Justin Headrick, Tommy Craun, Michael Kirkland, Dakota Broome and Jason Kirkland.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Morgan Funeral Chapel from 1:00 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M.
The family would like to extend a very special thanks to mother’s caregivers and friends, Shelia McFarland and Mrs. Lou Jean Lincoln, Betty Lemons, who took care of our mother for years. A special and loving thanks to our brother, George for the love and care for our precious mother for the past 24 years.
