William "Bill" N. Dickson II

He was born October 28, 1955 in Opelika, AL to William “Bill” Frank Dickson and Jean Rogers Dickson, both of Mobile, AL. He grew up in Jackson, AL as well as Mobile, AL before attending Auburn University. He served as chapter president of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity while at Auburn. Shortly after graduating, he joined Trust Company Bank, now SunTrust. Bill was a Senior Vice President and valued pillar in the PWM Division of SunTrust for 37 years. His work and friends were part of his family, as were the many professionals he dealt with over his many dedicated years of service. He will be remembered by his clients, co-workers, and friends as a devoted professional. His influence was much wider than he ever imagined, and he will be missed by the financial community he served so diligently. He served as President of the Auburn Club while living in Fort Lauderdale, FL before returning to Atlanta. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed following Auburn, Ole Miss, and Atlanta teams, as well as playing golf. He loved spending time with his family at Lake Martin, AL. Bill’s proudest accomplishment was his role as a husband and father to his family who he loved so much, and will miss him greatly. Bill is survived by his wife Jena Varner Dickson of Atlanta, GA; three children: Emma Dickson, Allie Dickson, and Will Dickson of Atlanta, GA; brother Robert (Susan) Dickson of Bay Minette, AL; brothers-in-law: Fred (Toni) Varner of Opelika, AL and Tom (Jonie) Varner of Madison, MS; nephews: John Dickson and Grant Dickson; nieces Marley Dickson and Mary Varner; stepmother Brenda Dickson; and many cousins, friends, co-workers, and neighbors. A memorial service will be held at H.M. Patterson & Son- Oglethorpe Hill Chapel in Atlanta, GA on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 3PM. Visitation will follow.
