Thomas “Tom” Zellars Davison, 84, died July 30, 2014. Tom, son of Beaumont “Beaudaddy” and Mary “Mellie/Beaumommy” Ella Davison (Zellars), passed away at home with family at his side. He is survived by Nancy, his beloved wife of 57 yrs, and children Thomas, Huntsville, AL; James, Atlanta, GA; and Nancy, Cumming, GA. He is also survived by five grandchildren; Jessica D. Cunningham, Peter N. Davison, Ann S. Davison, Bradley T. Higgins, and Michelle E. Higgins.
Born 5/10/1930 Tom lived his entire life in Atlanta and was considered a “Buckhead Boy”. He graduated from Darlington School in 1947 and from Vanderbilt University in 1951. After serving in the Air Force until 1954, he worked in insurance and banking until retiring in 1975 from C&S Bank in order to manage a family investment firm. Mr. Davison’s grandfather, Beaumont Davison, Sr., established Davison’s Department Store in downtown Atlanta. The original name was retained by Macy’s for many years.
There will be a private service presided by Lenbrook Chaplain Robbye Jarrell. Mr. Davison will be interned at Westview Cemetery beside his parents and grandparents.
