Growing up with his younger brother and sister, the family enjoyed happy times, and a traditional American upbringing…
Relocating to Millbrae, CA in 1965, Steve was into basic activities growing up, such as his neighborhood newspaper delivery route, and raising small pet animals in his basement hideaway.
The family moved back to the Los Angeles area – and Steve, after a short stint in higher education, followed his father’s direction in the car rent/transport business.
This plan served him well, giving Steve a solid base for what was to become his future career work…
In the mid-1980’s, Steve switched his transportation career into Hertz at LAX, where he managed an over-the-road crew of 10-15 drivers.
It was during one such local trip that Steve met Barbara Lipman – and the rest, as they say, is history…
By mid-2020, both Steve and Barbara had retired from Hertz, and cast about for an environment different from Southern California. With a dear friend in Atlanta, that area became their new destination.
Tragically, a fall in early February sent Steve to the hospital, where they discovered advanced stage liver and pancreatic cancer.
Hospice was in place when Steve passed away in Marietta, GA, just weeks after being diagnosed.
Steve’s parents were Marjorie Olson Seidel and Clark Newton Seidel, of Los Angeles, both of whom preceded him in death. Steve Seidel is survived by his life-partner, Barbara, Stan Seidel, his brother, and Julie Seidel, his sister .. as well as extended family members.
