Dr. Kraus was a Dermatologist at Dermatology Associates of Atlanta and a researcher at the Centers for Disease Control. He specialized in custom compounds and was often called the “skin whisperer” by his patients.
He was raised in Akron, Ohio. He attended St. Sebastian Catholic School, graduated from the University of Notre Dame and received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University. He loved doing research and practicing medicine. Education was very important to him and he instilled a desire for continuous learning in his children, grandchildren and many of his colleagues.
Dr. Kraus was a dedicated family man and loved weekend getaways with his wife Bobbie, family trips to Watersound, Florida and weekends at his backyard pool. When his children were younger you could find him in a brightly colored hat attending weekend springboard diving meets across the southeastern USA. He is survived by his wife, Roberta “Bobbie” Kraus; son Stephen and his wife Elizabeth; son Mark Kraus and his wife Phoebe; daughter Pilar Borth and her husband Kevin, and his six grandchildren, Alexis, Alan and Ava Kraus, William and Zoe Kraus, and Madison Borth.
