I GIVE YOU SPRINGTIME
Beatrice Trefey Slater - Bob's Mother
The Lord gently spoke;
I can not cure all suffering
For each his cross must bear, Or to all great riches give For gold is metered there'
But I can give you Springtime, New hope, faith that renews courage, The impetus, the will to take you through Good times or bad, when tragedy striketh,
When uprising or turmoils brew.
I place the gift of Springtime
Within each heart, returning year by year.
Look up the world awaketh, be glad, New life ‚new strength for all to view:
As a talisman, forever green, forever new,
I give you SPRINGTIME'.
ATLANTA
Beatrice Trefry Slater - Bob's Mother
No place is lovelier than Atlanta when the dogwoods are in bloom. Every street hill and dale takes on mantle of beauty that gives the city and countryside an enchanting aurora.
If you aren't in Atlanta at Dogwood time you have missed something delightful.
It sort of lifts your spirits and makes you remember it's still a wonderful world and for a spell forget the strife and turmoil around you. Just to be in Atlanta at dogwood time is a pleasurable experience. It is as if nature with her wonderful hand has spread beauty everywhere for all to enjoy no matter what their station. The dogwoods seem to lure Atlanta away from the busy computer world of today to the magical land of flowers.
