On Saturday, September 7, 2024, Raymond J. Collins passed away at the age of 63. Ray was born on December 1, 1960 in Dorchester, Massachusetts to Elizabeth (Betty) Shores. He is survived by his loving partner of 25 years, Alan Collins, his mother Betty, his beloved dogs Lilly and Harley, as well as numerous family and friends.
Ray ended his law enforcement career as Chief of Police at Carver College and was also the owner of numerous successful Atlanta based companies. He served as the Mens Commissioner for the Hotlanta Softball League.
Ray was known for his selfless, kind and generous spirit as well as being a successful leader. He loved to travel with his partner and close friends, loved casinos and he loved his close-knit group of friends.
He was known for his quick wit, his infectious laugh, being a risk taker, quick to judge and he was usually right.......No, he was always right! He was famous for saying "always being right is a curse."
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 12th at H.M. Patterson & Son-Oglethorpe Hill Chapel 4550 Peachtree Road Ne, Atlanta, GA, 30319. Gathering from 2-3pm followed by the service from 3-4pm.
