Rachel Pinson

Rachel L. Pinson, 93, of Atlanta, GA, passed away January 31, 2017. She was born in Newberry, SC on December 28, 1923. Rachel received a business degree from Augusta College. She was married to the late George Pinson on July 31, 1946. Rachel had a career in the family business, Down’s Safe & Lock Co. She was a member of the Associated Locksmiths of America and the Flying Rebels. She had a passion for her family, her pets and gardening. An avid Braves fan, Rachel watched every game and knew all the players. Her son, Joe Pinson preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Lou Courcelle, Lisa Pinson and Calvin Pinson.; grandchildren, Tracy Courcelle Hillis, Brian Courcelle, Taylor Pinson and Riley Pinson; and great-grandchildren, Caleb and Jacob Hillis; William, Andrew and Martha Grace Courcelle and Charlee Pinson. A funeral service will be conducted at 4:00pm on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at H.M. Patterson & Son – Oglethorpe Hill, 4550 Peachtree Rd, Brookhaven, GA 30319. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow the service at another location. Interment will take place Sunday, February 5, 2017 at 12:30pm at Pineview Memorial Gardens in North Augusta, SC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Angels Among Us Pet Rescue and City of Refuge, Atlanta, GA.
