Dear Joy and family,
I returned to the States from spending the last several years overseas. During a trip to North Carolina, I learned of Peter's passing last year.  My prayers and sympathy for your loss.  Peter was a great conversationalist and I enjoyed his stories.  I remember walking through a small shop in Chapel Hill and seeing a stone with "Joy" carved on it.  I bought it and gave it to him for you because I thought it would make you both smile.  He brought smiles to many faces during his life.

My deepest condolences to the family.  I just only learned of Peter's passing.  I was honored to know him and to have had the opportunity to be part of the business - and the mission - of the company as Editor-in-Chief.

Having recently returned to the US to hear of this news, was tragic. I served on an advisory board which Peter formed to keep in touch with education technology in the trenches. He was always so curious and listened so actively that his writings reflected an accurate version of what was taking place in schools. We will all miss him, especially his close friends and family.

To all the beloved members of Peter's family -- my wife Joyce and I extend our heartfelt sympathy and prayers, having just learned of his passing.   I had the privilege of working for Peter in 1978 when he was the publisher of EDUCATIONAL DEALER. What an incredible person -- a true American success story, how proud he was justifiably so, to have his name on the door...he built his own legendary publishing company with drive, creativity and passion. My condolences to Joy, Susan and Lisa. Peter made a big difference in my life many years ago and I will always be grateful for his kind words and support. He was indeed "one of a kind" and probably the most humble person I have ever met. He will be missed for sure, but not forgotten.

We will miss Peter and will remember so many happy times over the years.  He did so much for so many people, and his contribution to Catholic Education will be remembered forever.  How can anyone forget that Peter Li smile!

Our hearts go out to you as we all hold together this sadness of Peter's passing. But our hearts are also filled with so many happy memories of Peter. We remember him at conferences knowing EVERYONE there - because he was like the center of a wheel reaching out in all directions. And everyone admired and respected him. A true gentleman, a genuine entrepreneur, and a quietly dignified mover and shaker. Above all a friend to all of us and a champion who always went out of his way to lift up those around him and bring people together. He had such a positive impact on my life, networking and putting me together with other business contacts where we did good things together that would never have happened without Peter. I was so saddened to hear of Peter's passing.  He was one of the most inspirational people in the industry, along with being so kind and generous.  He was a path-maker, mentor, friend and leader ... always sharing his insights with those around him - he wanted everyone to be successful. Peter Li is one of the most insightful and generous people I have known. After having gotten to know him through business, it was an honor to have been invited to get to know him more casually. I will always be grateful to Peter for hiring me out of retirement. The years I spent with him were the most rewarding of my working life -- marketing materials that helped teachers teach and helped children learn.  He shaped the education technology industry like no one else. He was a visionary who saw promising products, promising programs and promising people. We all considered him the Godfather of educational technology. His quiet consistent leadership will be missed. He left his mark on the industry and each of us who practiced in it!

Peter was an inspiring boss and just a really good man. I very much enjoyed my time working for Peter in the 80s and learned a great deal from him. I loved his sense of humor and his sense of fun...he always kept the place alive and vibrant. A good man with a good and kind heart. His space will be impossible to fill. Peace along your journey, Peter.

Peter was a mentor to me in many ways who taught me not to be afraid to show my faith, appreciation and love for all people and to be considerate and polite in spite of opposition.  He was a gentle giant who would listen, observe and offer wisdom when needed.  I will miss him and pray for his soul to be in the loving hands of our LORD.

Joy, I am so sorry for your loss. Peter set the standard for our industry and continued to show us all the real meaning of friendship. He was a mentor and true friend over the more than 25 years of our relationship. I know there is a special place in heaven for this very special man.

Peter furthered the mission of religious education in the Church by  publishing teacher and student friendly materials for all those committed to the task of passing on the faith. He was a pioneer in Catholic publishing and I will always appreciate his giving spirit and true kindness.

This news brought tears to my eyes.   Peter was one of the first people I met in the Education industry.   He was always open and giving, and a great mentor.   Peter was a great man...he will be missed.

Peter was a giant in the publishing industry.  If you think about all the conventions he attended over the years, literally millions of people must have met him and were thrilled to meet him.  People continue to stop by our booths at shows and ask about Peter. He certainly made a big impression. He will be missed.
In the past few years, it was fun to reminisce and listen to Peter's stories. He had a lot of them because he had a lot of friends.  Rest in Peace.

My deepest sympathies to Joy, Lisa and the rest of Peter's family. It is the end of an era. Peter had a deep impact on our industry and the people in it. He was one in a million.

I have fond memories of first meeting Peter at NECC...many years ago....and thinking he seemed to know EVERYONE!  He was truly an industry icon in a field that was rapidly changing. I am honored to have known him. Please know your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I have known Peter since 1988 when he served on my Board of Directors at Ideal School Supply, where I was a young sales and marketing manager for Ideal School Supply Co. He was always a wise voice of encouragement and guidance as I grew throughout my career. Peter gave of himself to many in the education industry where he touched countless number of lives. Fond memories of his humor, his parties, his advice and his love of life will be remembered.  Bless you Peter!  Joy, Lisa and family may you also be blessed by Peter's wonderful light he gave to all.

Peter may be the most unassuming, self-effacing very successful person I've ever known...  It was a privilege to serve with him in NSSEA, so many great memories of his hearty laugh and wonderful demeanor.  Perhaps his greatest quality(of so many) is that he treated the highest corporate officer with the same respect and dignity with which he treated the just-starting-out intern.  While of course we mourn his passing...this time is 5% about the sadness, and 95% about the good times.  While a tremendously difficult time, I truly hope his family can take solace in the MANY he touched and mentored.

Peter made a forever imprint on our industry through his publications, his mentoring, his generosity, and his serving in so many enormous and small ways. He was a quiet man with a roaring spirit and a heart of gold. And he was funny - so, so funny. I am most happy to have called him a friend. His legacy is large, and the people he touched are many. Joy, Lisa, and family, you are all in my prayers.

After beginning to work for your company in 1977, a tall figure appeared at my desk. I looked up and said "Hello Mr. Li " He said " It's Peter" That began the friendship we had for the next 37 yrs.  Give your mother a hug. May we meet again. Love Hazel
