Penelope Odom Thompson of Atlanta, Georgia, died Thursday, September 1, 2016 after a brief illness. Born on November 1, 1947 in Baker County, Georgia, she grew up in Atlanta and graduated from The Westminster Schools and Mary Baldwin College. Penny was the daughter of the late Robert Benton Odom and Suzanne Link Odom. Penny is survived by her brother and sister, Benton Odom and Suzanna MacIntosh, godchildren, nieces and nephews, her many loving friends who meant so much to her and her inimitable cat, Boo. H. M. Patterson & Son Spring Hill is in charge of arrangements. A memorial service will be announced at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Atlanta Botanical Garden, the Atlanta History Center or to a charity of your choice.
