Marilyn M. Webb

Mickey McQueen Loudermilk Webb passed away peacefully Saturday, April 9, 2016. Mickey was born March 28, 1931 to Ed and Gertrude McQueen of Atlanta, Ga. She spent her elementary school years in Savannah, GA during WWII where her father worked for Bethlehem Steel Company building war ships. After the war, she returned to Atlanta to attend high school at Washington Seminary, now The Westminster Schools. While attending Marjorie Webster College in Washington, DC she made her debut with the Atlanta Debutante Club, where her dance card was always full. There she earned her nickname “The Dancing Fool”. In 1956 she married Robert Charles (Charlie) Loudermilk Sr., and together they raised a family and started a business, Aaron Rents, Inc. She enjoyed volunteering at The Junior League of Atlanta, The Atlanta Speech School, and Cottage Garden Club. She taught ballet and performed and choreographed local dance productions.

Mickey enjoyed traveling and researching ideas for her homes and gardens in Atlanta, Thomasville, Tate Mountain, and Sea Island, Georgia. Mickey had a gift for listening, laughing, and loving those around her. Because of her sparkling personality and elegance, she made friends around the world. She embraced and endeared everyone, and inspired many.

Special thanks go to her caregivers for their loving care that made her recent life so wonderful and full.

She is preceded in death by her second husband, Dwight Webb of Nashville, TN.

Mickey will be missed by her surviving family members: Lisa Loudermilk deGolian (daughter) and Michael deGolian (son-in-law); Robert (Robin) Charles Loudermilk, Jr. (son) and Frances Coley Loudermilk (daughter-in-law); Linda Caroline Loudermilk (daughter);

Grandchildren: Katharine deGolian, Robert deGolian, Coley Loudermilk, Chappell Loudermilk, Robert Charles (Charlie) Loudermilk, III and Louise Corrigan Loudermilk (daughter-in-law).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

A celebration of Mickey’s life will take place at a later date.
