Marian was born in Ontario, Illinois to Wayne and Mildred Thayer on December 8, 1932. She married Robert Johnson on December 28, 1952 in Oneida, Illinois. She obtained her Real Estate license and worked as a Real Estate Broker for her own firm in Tucker, Georgia. Marion loved spending time with her family and friends and particularly enjoyed playing the card game, Gin. She also loved the beach, playing bingo, and watching Atlanta Braves baseball. She was well traveled and visited many countries including Egypt, Barbados and Argentina. Although she traveled abroad, her favorite vacation spot was her condo in Destin, FL.
Marian is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Johnson, her daughter, Terese Smarr, and her son, Joel Johnson.
Marian is survived by her sister, Joyce Bloomberg, her granddaughters, Abigail Smarr and Rebecca Smart, great-Grandchildren, Reilly Moriarty, Sean Moriarty, Jackson Smart, and by her best friend of over 50 years, Patricia Rey. Marian was also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services are still being determined at this time. Arrangements are by H.M. Patterson & Son- Oglethorpe Hill Chapel in Brookhaven, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
