Margret W. Konieczny born in Muenster, Westphalia, Germany on February 25, 1926, died on November 6, 2011 after a long illness. A loving wife, wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Margret is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Sigurd (Sigi) and Jeannine Konieczny; grandchildren, Kurt Konieczny and Stephanie Lloyd-Konieczny, Kristina Holbrooks, Jakob Konieczny and great-grandchildren Austin James Holbrooks, Thomas Terrell Holbrooks, and Cecelia Rose Lloyd. Toward the end of World War II, Margret escaped from the Russians in East Prussia. On June 10, 1949, along with her husband and son, saw the Statue of Liberty in New York for the first time and settled in the great State of Georgia. She was truly a woman of vision. Visitation and funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 1350 Hearst Drive, Atlanta, Georgia 30319. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Arlington, 201 Mount Vernon Hwy. NW, Sandy Springs, Georgia 30328.
