Marge was born in Kansas City, MO to Marion Kerr and Grace Kerr (Litton) on January 6, 1929. She grew up in Wichita, KS, graduating from North High School. At age 14 during World War II, she started working at S.H. Kress & Co. For more than 40 years, she worked in retail sales and management before retiring from Target. She was District President of the VFW Auxiliary at VFW Post 6957 in Haysville, Kansas. She was active in the PTA in California. Her husband’s work in the aerospace industry took them to Everett, WA; Palmdale, CA; San Diego; Los Angeles; and Atlanta. After retirement, Marge and her husband Ted returned to Kansas and lived in Beaumont for 10 years before returning to Atlanta.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents Marion and Grace Kerr; brothers Paul, Tucker, George, Howard and Timothy; and sisters Genevieve and Elaine.
Marge is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ted French, Sr.; two sons, Steve Blaine and his wife Terrie of Wichita, KS; Ted French, Jr. of Atlanta and one granddaughter, Andrea Cook and her husband Jeremy of Goddard, KS; three great-grandchildren, Chambrea Cook of Enid, OK; Aiden and Kennedy Cook of Goddard, KS; and many nieces and nephews.
No funeral or memorial service will be held at this time.
Memorials may be given to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Shriners Hospitals for Children, and Boys Town.
