Marcia Ann Taft of Braselton, Georgia, joined her son Jimmy Taft in heaven on October 11, 2019. Marcia Taft, age 68, was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend to so many. She passed peacefully with her family by her side. She was originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. Marcia is survived by her husband James David Taft of 45 years, her brother James Goda and his wife Carol Goda. She leaves behind her daughters Jennifer Williams and Julia Hawkins as well her two nephews Jayson Goda and Zachary Goda. She was a loving grandmother to Lily Hawkins and Andrew Williams and great grandmother to Abel Williams and second mother to her son-in-law’s John Williams and Eric Hawkins. Marcia was the glue that bonded the family, she was a loving and giving person to everyone. She enjoyed decorating her house for the holidays, going to her granddaughter’s soccer games, going out to eat, and cooking for her entire family. She graduated in 1969 from St. Pius X Catholic School in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended Atlanta Design in 1971 with a degree in interior design. A memorial service will be held to honor Marcia at Christ Place Church, 3428 Atlanta Hwy, Flowery Branch, GA on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 4:30 p.m. Following the service, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Sterling on the Lake Clubhouse, 7005 Lake Sterling Blvd, Flowery Branch, GA from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, we are asking for people to donate blood or platelets to the America Red Cross near you.
