Kathryn W. Nixon, age 89, formerly of Dunwoody, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2014. She graduated from Commercial High School in Atlanta, she retired from Foster-Wheeler Corporation as executive secretary. Kathryn loved square dancing and round dancing. Her hobbies included R V-ing, boating, sewing, cooking and entertaining. She is survived by her son, John (Shawn) Nixon; daughters, Judy (Bill) Haygood, and Kathy (Allen) Cunningham; grandchildren, Tiffany Spink, Bobby Cunningham, Shannon Sikes, Jimmy Haygood, Kristie Nixon, Lauren Nixon, Stuart Barnes, Elizabeth Barnes, Anne Marie Barlan and 12 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at H. M. Patterson & Son Oglethorpe Hill on Sunday from 2-5 PM. Graveside services will be held at Westview Cemetery at 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 18, 2014 with Reverend Sam Davis officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to The Alzheimer’s Association.
