MCGOWAN, Kathleen Marie (Brown), age 74, died on Thursday, October 28, 2021. She was a 1964 graduate of Most Holy Rosary School in Syracuse, New York, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from St. Bonaventure University in 1968. She married Charles John McGowan in July 1968, with whom she had four children and remained married for 48 years.
Kathleen was kind, loving and wickedly funny. After retiring from a career in banking 2013 as Vice President and Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager at RBS Citizens Group, she and Charlie relocated from North Ridgeville, Ohio, to Mableton, Georgia. Following Charlie’s death in 2016, Kathleen moved to Roswell, Georgia, where she was active in swimming classes and the Roswell Ramblers group and attended Mass at Saint Andrew Catholic Church.
Her beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of her children: Daniel McGowan of Pyeongtaek, South Korea; Matthew (Heather) McGowan of Gahanna, Ohio; Eileen McGowan of Alexandria, Virginia; and Joseph (Jenna) McGowan of Brookhaven, Georgia; three grandchildren; Sisters Janet (Sami) Badre, Carolyn (Randy) Christ, Theresa (Phil) Dolbert and Mary (Joe) Banks, as well as brother, Martin (Marybeth) Brown; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
