Joseph Joe William Garson

Joseph (Joe) William Garson born March 8, 1934, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016 peacefully at his home after a long illness surrounded by his family. Joe spent 9 years with the Army National Guard Reserve and was a graduate of Rutgers University. He started his career with RCA in New Jersey then moved to Atlanta with Xerox Learning Systems/Learning International where he became Regional sales manager and retired after 25 plus years with the company. Joe loved to play tennis and golf and was a member of the ALTA tennis league for many years. He will be always be remembered as a Devoted Husband, Loving Father, with a great sense of humor. Joe is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy (Dot) Garson, 2 sons, Gregory and wife Despina , Son Gary, Grandsons Chris and wife Mi, Nick, Dustin, and Paul, Great granddaughter Lily, and family dog Missy. The family would also like to thank Vennise Glass, who gave Joe wonderful care the last 6 months of his life. Memorial service to celebrate his life and memory will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 3:00 pm at H.M. Patterson and Son, Oglethorpe Hill 4550 Peachtree Road NE Atlanta, GA 30319 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Atlanta Humane society.
