John Carlton Binns

John Carlton Binns, 82, of Atlanta, GA, passed away on November 12, 2017. John graduated from North Fulton High School in 1953, where he excelled in basketball and golf, which are sports he continued with success at Mercer University in Macon, GA. He graduated from Mercer University as President of his senior class then went on to become a successful commercial Realtor with Sharp-Boylston Co. and later, with his own firm, Binns Properties. He was a longtime member of Wieuca Baptist Church, a past president of the Buckhead Fifty Club, worked as a mentor with the Boys Club of Atlanta and loved life and traveling.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Carlton and Marie Binns, and sister, Mary Arnold Binns. He is survived by his partner of 21 years, Shirley Plunkett; cousin, Laura Cheek, and other cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at Wieuca Baptist Church on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 2:00pm with a visitation prior from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery.
