Janet was the daughter of Meribah Timmons Stafford and Ormond Stafford. She is survived by her brother, Richard and sister-in-law, Ann Stafford; daughter, Rowena Lynn Turley; grandson, James Turley and his wife, Jessica and their two children, Akina Rose Turley and Kai Robert Turley; and stepsons, Don and Terry Turley.
Janet was always a naturally beautiful woman. Early on she moved to Hollywood, CA and soon landed an exclusive contract with American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, perhaps because of her striking resemblance to Marilyn Monroe!
Janet was swept off of her feet by a young athlete, “Bullit” Bob Turley, who pitched for the New York Yankees. The marriage lasted for 17 years but ended in divorce. Some things are meant to be however, as they re-married in August 2009. Janet became a widow in 2013.
Janet was an amazing hostess. She loved entertaining and would plan her holiday menus months in advance. Anyone who was lucky enough to receive an invitation considered themselves lucky!
Janet also had a thriving career as a realtor, but retired after she and Bob re-married at his request that she could travel without restrictions.
Janet’s caring about people and family extended to her pets as well. At one time, she shared her love with Bob and six cats.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 11:00am at H.M. Patterson & Son – Oglethorpe Hill Chapel, 4550 Peachtree Rd NE, Brookhaven, GA 30319. The family will receive friends one hour prior.
