James O’Neill, 66, of Atlanta, GA died after a brief illness. Jimmy was a devoted husband to his wife Barbara of 31 years, and leaves behind his daughter Bridget O’Neill and son Nicholas O’Neill, as well as his sister Denise O’Neill and brother Matthew O’Neill, sister-in-law Mary O’Neill, several nieces and nephews, and his dog Henry. His mother, father and sister pre-deceased him.
Jimmy was well-known in the Atlanta community, having lived here for 22 years. He was born in Sayreville, NJ and lived in New York City for many years before moving to Atlanta. He spent the bulk of his career as a Securities Trader at various brokerage firms both in New York and Atlanta. He and his wife own The Cookie Studio in Buckhead.
Jimmy had friends from so many aspects of his life,-career, school, customers at The Cookie Studio. Everyone loved him for his easy-going and generous nature and his quick wit. He loved to golf, walk his dog and spend time with his family. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be sent to The Sheperd Center, 2020 Peachtree Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30309.
There will be a service at the O’Neill’s home on Sunday 5/14 beginning at 4:00 1287 Lanier Blvd NE, Atlanta.
