The family will receive visitors on Thursday August 4th, at H M Patterson and Sons funeral home 4550 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30319 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A rosary will be said at 7:30 PM in the chapel.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 5th at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Catholic Church at 3773 Chamblee Tucker Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30341. A viewing will be prior to the mass at 10:30 AM
Monsignor Richard Lopez will be celebrating the mass. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park at 201 Mt Vernon Hwy, NW, Sandy Springs, GA. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cancer Home in lieu of flowers.
James was born on December 7, 1982 in Atlanta to James and Mary Jean (Kaufmann) Bentley. He attended Saint Pius X Catholic High School. Upon graduation, James attended Georgia Southern University where he earned his undergraduate degree, then attended Georgia State University earning his Master’s degree in Fine Arts Magna Cum Laude.
James was a Digital Media Production Teacher at Brandon Hall School in Atlanta. He enjoyed teaching and working with his students and took great pride in their success. His sense of humor, his compassion, and his dedication to his work was a combination that drew many friends and relatives close to him.
James is survived by his father, James E. Bentley II, his mother, Mary Jean Bentley, three siblings, Marie Sabbaresse and husband Brannon, Rachel Linwood and husband Victor, Jason Bentley and wife Kristi, his grandmother, Betty Bentley of Atlanta, three nephews, Joshua Sabberesse, Luke Sabbarese, and Aidan Linwood.
