Gabriel Serrano

Gabriel Serrano, MD age 89 of Atlanta, Ga passed away peacefully on the early hours of Feb 08, 2014 surrounded by his family. Preceded in death by his son Alberto and his wife Cecilia. Dr. Serrano is survived by his children Gabriel Serrano Jr. MD, of Valencia, Spain, Ernesto Serrano of Atlanta, Ga, Cecilia Ryle of Roswell, Ga, Elsa Serrano of South Beach Fl, Patricia Charboneou of Atlanta, Ga and many loving great- grandchildren, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Dr. Serrano loved medicine and practiced as a Surgeon, OB/GYN, and Family Practitioner for over 60 years. He served as Chief Of Staff at Memorial, Saint Joseph's, Candler Hospitals in Savannah, Ga. then moved into private practice in Atlanta. He dedicated his life to helping others through the practice of medicine. Dr. Serrano delivered over 3,000 babies and was loved by his patients not only for his medical skills, but also his humanity, humility and above all, his kindness.In his third year of medical school he met a beautiful CPA named Cecilia San Miguel and a few months later married her. A marriage that lasted 66 years ending in Cecilia's death in 2012. Most of all Dr. Serrano will be remembered as someone who always treated everyone with kindness and respect. He had a smile that could warm the coldest heart and to his family he gave the best example of what a person should aspire to be. We will always remember our dad as being humble and the sweetest person in the world because he was always there for us all. Rest in peace Papi you were and always be the best part of us we love you and miss you terribly. The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of The Assumption Catholic Church on Monday, February 10 at 2:00 PM.
