Edith Carrie Urban, age 73, of Decatur, Georgia passed away February 17, 2015. Edith was a long time resident of Bradford, PA who recently relocated to Decatur, Georgia. She worked for many years as an educator in the Bradford Public Schools, both as a reading specialist and as an administrator. She was very active in her community and her church. A master gardener, she loved flowers, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Louise Rector and Charles E. Brown Sr. Survivors include her husband, Thomas Urban; son, Philip (Sue) Urban of Lakewood, Ohio; daughter, Beth Urban (Barry) Hart of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Kathryn, Alexander and Charles; brothers, Charles (Sheila) Brown Jr. of Mineral Wells, West Virginia, Tom (Sharon) Brown of Mineral Wells, West Virginia, and Jerry (Brenda) Brown of Hurricane, West Virginia; and sister, Ruby (Jerry) Ruppel of Parkersburg, West Virginia.
A memorial service was held at Holy Trinity Parish Chapel in Decatur, GA. The family will have a memorial service on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11 o’clock at The Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Bradford, PA. with the Rev. Stacey Fussell officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Bradford Area Public Library Early Literacy Program, Bradford, PA or a charity of your choice.
