Rucker, Dorothy Robertson, age 95, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away Saturday, February 3rd, 2018. A true Southern Belle and a southern beauty, Dot was a loving and devoted wife and mother and was a faithful member of Wieuca Road Baptist Church. She loved to play golf and bridge and enjoyed traveling the world with her husband of 73 years, Doyle. She was born in Gainesville, Georgia, but grew up in Atlanta. She went to Fulton High School and was voted “Most Popular” her senior year. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ford Doyle Rucker, her parents, Ray Ernest and Louella (Steed) Robertson, her grandson, Christopher Michael Robinson, and her four siblings, Ray Robertson, Elsie Bradford, Sue White and Betty Chipman. She is survived by her daughters, Judy (Bennett) Hodges, Patty (Don) Robinson, and Susan (Ken) Berg; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and other cherished family members.
A graveside service will be held at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mt. Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs, Georgia on Saturday, February 10th at 2:00 p.m. H.M. Patterson & Son Oglethorpe-Hill will be handling the service arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samaritan’s Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, North Carolina 28607, where a memorial fund has been established in her name.
