Clara M. Caldwell, age 90, of Duluth, GA, passed away Saturday December 12, 2020 in Brighton Gardens of Dunwoody, GA. She was born in in Atlanta, Georgia to June and George Thomas Towns on May 8, 1930 and grew up in Dunwoody.
She was a graduate of Chamblee High School, Chamblee GA. Clara worked as an executive administrative assistant, retiring from IBM. After retirement from IBM, she worked in the real estate industry as a closing document specialist. Clara was of the Baptist faith and was a faithful member of Brookhaven Baptist Church until her health no longer allowed her to attend on a regular basis. Clara was full of life and was never still in one place very long, thus given her family nick name of “Jiggs”, which she readily answered too. A lover of cats, she had many mementos and images of cats throughout her home.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, June Rollins Ramey, and George T. Towns and son, Randall Alan Gay.
Clara is survived by her sister Frances T. Smith, her niece Joyce S. Sorrow (Dennis), nephews Larry W. Smith (Janice), James Dickerson, Ronald Dickerson (Robbie) and David Towns.
Due to COVID concerns, family visitation will be held at 10 AM Friday December 18, 2020. A private interment to follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park. Arrangements by H.M. Patterson & Son-Oglethorpe Hill Chapel.
