Brenda Marie Lane Rouse passed away October 4, 2024, after a short illness. Brenda was born June 30, 1942, in Columbus, Georgia, and grew up in and around there, and in high school in Crestview, Florida. She married her high school sweetheart, Chris Rouse, while in college, and graduated from Florida State University with an accounting major. She lived with her husband and three children in Atlanta from 1965 to 1980, Macon from 1980 till 1994, Augusta from 1994 till 1998, and in 1998 back to Atlanta (Dunwoody). She worked as the accountant in small businesses, and later as the office manager for medical practices. But her primary calling was raising her children and, later, enjoying her grandchildren.
Brenda was active in the communities in which she lived, and especially her Church. She served as a board member for nonprofit organizations, played ALTA tennis for many years, was in bridge groups and several Church groups. At Saint Martin Episcopal Church in Atlanta, she especially enjoyed the Church Prayer Shawl Knitting ministry and Altar Guild.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 60 years, Chris Rouse, sons Christopher (Savannah) and Keith (Atlanta), and daughter Heather (Decatur), and seven grandchildren.
