Betty was born in Birmingham, AL to Albert and Kathleen Siedelberg on March 11, 1933. She went to Grady High School and graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism. Betty was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She was known as “Aunt Betty” on the WSB children’s show “The Popeye Club”.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Walters; son, Fred Walters and her sisters, Kathleen Summers and Marianna McPheeters .
Betty is survived by her children Elizabeth Walters and Preston”Bud” Walters.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 28 from 5:00-7:00pm at H.M. Patterson-Oglethorpe Hill, 4550 Peachtree Rd NE, Brookhaven, GA 30319.
A Graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at 3:00pm at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mount Vernon Hwy, Sandy Springs, GA 30328
