Betsy was a friend from childhood through Graduation from Druid Hills High School. We earned our curved bar in Girl Scouting together under the leadership of Susan Prescott's incredible mother, Toni Prescott. Kathy Smith and I twirled with Betsy. She and I had begun writing again after 45 years. Life has been so hard for her recently. I am grateful she is released from her personal pain. I did not like to think of her hurting. We all wish she could have joined us at the reunion this last summer. When I wrote to urge her to come she did not respond. I should have called or reached out more.

Richard THE CLASS of 1965 is so sorry for your loss. As a classmate Betsy was an awesome strong young lady. Her passing is way to soon, but she is in a better place with no more pain and suffering.

We will all miss the kind and generous friend who was our competent and organized sorority president.  We shared an apartment after graduation from UGA, and have many great memories of our "bachelor days" as beginning school teachers.  After many years of chronic pain lately, I am comforted to know that Betsy is now pain free.
