

Bennie Frank McCurley, 75, of Johns Creek, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Hospice Atlanta in Buckhead following a short battle with cancer. He was born in Hartwell, Georgia to Howard and Druewillie McCurley, September 25, 1936. Bennie was a graduate of Hart County High School and attended the University of Georgia. He served in the Georgia National Guard for 2 years. Bennie married Geralee Richardson of Hartwell, Georgia February 12, 1961. He started his career with Gulf Oil as a retail marketer. From there he chose the route as service station operator and owner. Over his long career he owned several service stations in the metro Atlanta area. For the past 40 years he has been the owner of the Shell service station located on West Paces Ferry Road in Buckhead, formerly a BP station. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Geralee McCurley and his son, Scott McCurley of Marietta, Georgia; his son and daughter in law, Eric and Marlise McCurley of Suwanee, Georgia; grandchildren, Morgan McCurley of Cumming, Georgia; Ben and Emma McCurley of Suwanee, Georgia; brother, Gary McCurley of Mill Creek, Georgia and sister, Connie McCurley of Hartwell Georgia. He is also survived by many neices, nephews and cousins. He is preceeded in death by his parents and his brother, William McCurley. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 12th at 2 o’clock at Oglethorpe Hill Chapel. Interment Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 at H.M. Patterson & Son, Oglethorpe Hill Chapel, 4550 Peachtree Road, NE, Atlanta, Georgia, 30319.
