Barbara Ann Fischer Foster, 85, of Decatur died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, following an extended illness. She was born Aug. 16, 1931, in Los Angeles, Calif., the daughter of Carl Fischer and Josephine Tickell Fischer Wright. She was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who devoted her life to caring for others. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Carl Davis Fischer of Apache Junction, Ariz. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, H. Hugh Foster Jr.; daughters and sons-in-law, Crystal and Terry Evans of Peachtree Corners and Susan and Jimmie Burns of Vidalia; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Julianne Foster of Carrollton; seven granddaughters and their spouses, Lauren Evans, Sara and Matt Stone, Jennifer Foster, Rebecca and Justin Stubbs, Hannah and Rocky Culver, Amanda Foster, and Kathleen Burns; a grandson, Christopher Foster; and a great-grandson, Tyler Stone. The family will receive friends at H.M. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, Oglethorpe Hill Chapel, Atlanta, on Sunday, Nov. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be conducted Monday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m. at Brookhaven Christian Church in Atlanta. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery.
