Rick was one of the most decent people I've ever known, especially in politics.  What a warm and gentle and helpful person.  Our loss is Heaven's gain.

Rick was a kind and gentle man, a selfless person.  Rick always put others first.  A true Atlantan who loved people and dedicated his life towards helping others. Rick helped change my life by getting me involved with grassroots politics.  I will strive to be more like Rick and encourage others to do the same.  Practice random acts of kindness every day. Rick was very helpful to us a few years ago and even as recently as a couple weeks ago with our county GOP concerns.  We are honored to have known Rick and are among those who will miss him in the days ahead.  Praying for God's comfort to the close family and friends.

Rick never failed to show up and perform.  His friends, especially in the Republican Party, will miss him.  I know we in Forsyth County, GA will miss him.

Rick leaves behind a lifetime of service, but his greatest legacy may be his investment of himself in the church he loved, Christian Church Buckhead. He was there from day one and was a faithful member and supporter.

I have heard some of the biggest names in Georgia politics have taken the time to personally show up to offer support and condolences to the family, and to pay their respects to Rick. I think it's worth it to also mention the small names that have and will show up. Last night at the visitation, I met a couple who worked with Rick to start the DeKalb YRs more than 20 years ago. I didn't know either of them, but Rick had enough of an impact that they came. The reason there will be more is because Rick did know them all, the big names and the small names, and he treated even the smallest names like they were big names. We can admire his legacy...a GOP led Georgia that he worked his whole life for, but we can't duplicate his legacy. However, we can also learn from him that humility, hard work and a bit of laughter can make a huge impact, even for such a small man. Funny that a man who may not have been very tall physically can such a large shadow, one large enough to cover an entire state.

Rick ALWAYS had a smile for me and his hand extended to greet me for the eight years I knew him.  He was such a gentle man and was one of the 'good guys'.  I'm saddened to learn of his passing.  Enjoy your reward in Heaven my friend!

If you needed anything... or needed to KNOW anything, Rick was your man. Always happy to help and throw in a smile to boot. Rick: We're all gonna miss you buddy. God speed.

Rick impacted more lives than he could ever know.  It was always a pleasure talking to Rick and I knew I could count on Rick to do what he said.  He will be missed tremendously.  It was an honor to know him and I can't believe he is gone.  Prayers are going up for his family.

Rick's loss will be felt for years, but the blessing of all those he touched will be felt longer.  While I like many will miss the next conversation, I hope you find warmth in knowing those of those will miss him the most will be his legacy for the next generation.

I had hours of conversations with Rick at church.  What an awesome man with a positive spirit.  I was so saddened by the news, but encouraged that he is reunited with his Savior.  My condolences to his family and friends at this time.
