

Anne Louise Rutherford of Atlanta, GA, died on January 6, 2016. She was the daughter of Charles and Louise Rutherford and was born in Knoxville, TN on August 18, 1946. She attended the Webb School in Knoxville, then attended Salem Academy in Winston-Salem, NC. She received her degree in History at the University of Tennessee. She also studied Interior Design at the same university. Anne Louise was married to Stephen H. Cox in 1969 and later had two sons. She married John L. Turley in 1981. She lived in Knoxville until 1992 when she moved to Paris, France where she studied at L'Alliance Francaise de Paris for a year. She moved to Atlanta in 1994. She traveled extensively, around the world twice, as well as many trips to England and France. She also loved bridge and played duplicate several days a week. Additionally, she enjoyed creating pottery at the Chastain Arts Center. Anne Louise was a member of The Church of the Ascension in Knoxville and was active in the Junior League of Knoxville as well as the Knoxville Garden Club. After her move to Atlanta, she volunteered and was a docent for the Atlanta Botanical Garden. She is survived by her two sons, Stephen H. Cox Jr. and Michael C. Cox and his wife Erin of Atlanta, her three grandchildren, Nathan Christopher Cox, Matthew Charles Cox and Kelly Elizabeth Cox, all of Atlanta, as well as her brother Dr. Charles E. Rutherford and his wife Leslie of Knoxville. Finally, she leaves behind her beloved Cavalier Spaniel, Bentley, as well as her many close friends, to whom she expressed that she'd had more in this life than she could have ever imagined.
