Alice was born on April 5,1932 on Atlanta to Belle and James M. Brewer. She grew up in a loving home with siblings Louise and Dickey. Alice was baptized at Moreland Avenue Baptist Church where her father was a Deacon and her mother taught Sunday School. Alice worked at CDC where she met the love of her life J Gordon Steed. After dating a year, she proposed, and he said “OK”. They tied the knot on August 20, 1966, and hurried off from the ceremony in time to catch the first Falcons game ever played in Atlanta. They blended his 3 girls and her 2 boys and a grandaddy into a real-life Brady Bunch family. They spent 52 wonderful years devoted to each other until his death in 2018.
She is survived by her sister Louise Clifford, children Patti Aguilar, Donna (Wayne) Johnson, Shirley (Bo) Hamil, Ken (Pam) Langley and Kerry (Linda) Langley; grandchildren Jennifer, Jeremy, Ryan, Chris, Tyler, Kristen, Braden, Elizabeth and Johnathan; also 23 great grandchildren and I great great grandchild.
Alice enjoyed her time at BSF Bible Study which she shared with Louise and was a member of Wieuca Baptist Church.
Alices most Cherished role in life was that as “GRANDMOMMY” as she firmly believed that grandchildren were truly a Gift from God.
She was well Loved and will be missed.
A graveside service for Alice will be held Friday, October 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mount Vernon Hwy, Sandy Springs, GA 30328, followed by a reception.
