Alfredo Gennarro Avino, 73, of Tucker, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Halcyon Hospice in Atlanta, Georgia. He passed away after a long battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Alfredo Avino was born in Naples, Italy September 19, 1945 to Angelo Avino and Eva DiMaio. He married Anna Mattiello on June 21, 1971 in Sorrento Italy. He was a Master Tailor and moved to America in December 1973. He worked as head tailor at Saks Fifth Avenue before opening his own tailor shop, Pins and Needles Alterations. He also had a passion for baking and in 1998, he and his family opened Amalfi Restaurante.
Alfredo Avino is survived by his spouse, Anna Avino, his daughter, Eva Mills, his two sons, Angelo Avino and Francesco Avino, his mother, Eva Avino, his brother Joe Avino and his nephew, Salvatore Mattiello.
There will be a viewing held for family and friends Sunday, December 9, 2018, 4:00-6:00 pm at
H.M. Patterson Oglethorpe Chapel, 4550 Peachtree Road, NE, Brookhaven, GA. 30319. A funeral service will be held Monday, December 10, 2018 at 10:00am at the Cathedral of Christ the King, 2699 Peachtree Road, NE, Atlanta, GA 30305. He will rest peacefully at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs.
