Adrienne Jean Harrington, 59, originally from Virginia Beach, VA and for the last 35 years residing in Atlanta, GA, has passed away. Born in Norfolk, VA to Charlie and Betty Harrington on May 25, 1955, she was a daughter, a sister and a cherished friend to many. Adrienne was preceded in death by her father and then mother, and this year by her father John Brown. She is survived by her brothers, Steve Harrington and Nancy Porter, and Alan Brown and Donna Hurley. For anyone who knew her, you know about her caring spirit, her kind heart and her love for the Atlanta Falcons. Adrienne was a graduate of Norfolk Academy in Norfolk, VA. She earned a BA in Mathematics in 1977 at Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Lynchburg, VA and she earned her MESM in 1978 from University of Virginia in Charlottesville. She was first employed by GTRI in 1979 and most recently served as the head of the Test Engineering Division of the Electronic Systems Laboratory, leading the growth in GTRI’s R&D with the USAF FMS customers. She was loved and will be missed tremendously. A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, July 28, 2014 at 1 o’clock at Patterson’s Spring Hill, receiving guests 2 hours prior beginning at 11 o’clock. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made in her memory to the American Breast Cancer Foundation, The American Heart Association, or the Atlanta Humane Society.
